Our place wouldn’t be uniquely Montanan without mountain modern touches throughout the interior and exterior of our restaurants. While all of our locations differ in ways, they all share one thing: products sourced and manufactured in the Big Sky State. Here are some things you may notice next time you visit your local Mack Riv:
It wouldn’t be MacKenzie River without a driftboat hanging from the ceiling. These flat bottomed, curved hull boats are popular among river anglers as they’re designed to drift with the current while still maintaining maneuverability for the rower. Our first employees loved these so much we decided to name our proprietary beer (Driftboat Amber Ale®) after them! Our friends over at Jeremiah Johnson Brewing make this exclusively for MacKenzie River and you can ONLY enjoy a frosty draft of it with us. Give it a shot next time you’re in!
You may also notice antique decorations! We work hard to source these from antique retailers so we can ensure an authentic Montana charm for our guests.
Canvas prints hung around your local Mack Riv are a mix of images captured in Montana + images from the local community. While they differ from location to location, one thing remains true - they all hold a special place in our hearts. Have a question about a specific piece? Tap “Contact Us” below and shoot us a picture of the print you’re wondering about.
Curious about the panoramic images displayed in your local MRP?! These were sourced from Montana Panoramic and photographer Craig W. Hergert. Tap the link below to learn more about each piece.
RECLAIMED WOOD Look around and you’ll notice it! Every MacKenzie River features reclaimed wood from Montana. While the original use of each piece of wood isn’t consistent, it is full of history... If only these walls could talk!
FURNITURE FROM THE 406 It was important for us to source Montana-made and Montana-inspired furnishings. That’s why benches, booths, host podiums, and more - since the very beginning - are built and finished in the Big Sky State.
ROCK FROM THE 406 Any rock finishes around our restaurants are sourced from Montana quarries. Another way we bring the 406 with us wherever we do business.
BIRCH GROVES Let's address the tree trunk in the room... Arguably the most unique feature, seen in many MacKenzie River locations, is the reclaimed Birch Tree Groves. We source these from the banks of the Missouri River and they're just one way we bring the wilds of Montana into the comfortable interior of our dining room. These sections are as extraordinary as they are authentic and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
